SAEOPP Scholarships

The competition for 2018 SAEOPP Scholarships opened October 20, 2017 and all applications are due by 11:59:59 on November 17, 2017.

2018 SAEOPP Conference

The 2018 SAEOPP Conference will be held on February 4-7, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency in Savannah, GA.  Registration is now open.  Visit www.saeoppconference.com for more information about the conference, and when you're ready to register visit www.mysaeopp.org to register!

LEARN PRACTICAL INFORMATION ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR TRIO PROGRAM! Whether you have a brand new program or one funded since 1964, this training will provide strategies and best practices! You will also learn about GRANT MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE – everything it takes to actually operate your TRIO grant –from legislation & regulations, to fiscal concerns and reporting. THE TRAINING CATERS TO BOTH NEW AND SEASONED STAFF. As a matter of fact, we feel the mix helps both groups learn more while sharing information.

2017 SAEOPP Conference website
The 45th SAEOPP Conference will be held in Mobile, AL on February 12-15th. More information can be found about the conference by visiting the 2017 SAEOPP Conference website.

Once you know you are attending, go to www.mySAEOPP.org to register today!  This is the same site we've used for the past few years, so logging in and registering should be quick and easy.

If you've not already registered as a member for 2016-2017, it's not too late to do that at www.mySAEOPP.org as well!

SAEOPP IS OFFERING 2 TRAININGS IN NOVEMBER!!!

SAEOPP has two exciting training opportunities available in November!  The All Programs Best Practices Forum and the Upward Bound/McNair Proposal Writing Workshop!

Both trainings will be held at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida. The hotel room block closes on October 10th or until the SAEOPP room block is full.  Click on each flyer below for more information about each workshop

SAEOPP Elections

Candidates for the 2017-2019 slate of SAEOPP Officers have been announced.  We have 3 candidates running for president, and one candidate for each other office: vice president, secretary, & treasurer. Please see the Elections page for more information about each candidate, and about the process of this election.  

Voting is open from September 4-16, 2016.  Please visit www.mySAEOPP.org to login and vote.  You must be a paid member to vote in the SAEOPP Election.

Please report any unethical behavior to the Nominations committee by emailing directly to election@saeopp.org.

SSS Best Practices Forum BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!!!

New staff in newly funded SSS Programs and new staff in refunded SSS Programs are invited to attend the SAEOPP SSS Best Practices Forum. Seasoned staff might also find valuable insight in this workshop, scheduled for July 13-14, 2016 in beautiful Orlando, FL. The topics promise to have an impact on your ability to successfully operate your SSS Project. SAEOPP SCHOLARSHIPS

SAEOPP is pleased to announce the pre-opening of the SAEOPP Academic, Survivor Scholarship. The Academic Scholarship is given to those Pre-College and Adult Learners who display outstanding academics and community service within their education career. The Survivor Scholarship  is designed for students who have overcome major challenges and obstacles to persevere academically.

SAEOPP is excited to announce their sponsorship of a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video contest. Students are challenged to produce one (1) PSA, 30 seconds in length, which explains for future TRIO students how their involvement with TRIO will affect their lives.

 Two (2) scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $500: 

1.)    Best entry by a participant of the ETS, UB, or UBMS projects

2.)    Best entry by a SSS, McNair, EOC, or VUB projects

All videos must be received by the SAEOPP Scholarship Committee by 11:59 pm EST December 4, 2015. No video submissions will be accepted after that time. All video submissions will become property of SAEOPP.
